Foxtel's OnBoard

‘OnBoard’ is an award-winning onboarding experience created at Foxtel. It was created to be an end-to-end experience for employees across the world joining the Foxtel Group was spearheaded with a powerful digital module featuring international entertainment stars, checklists, VR experiences and more.

This experience increased employee retention in their first year, taking onboarding ratings from 45NPS to 75NPS almost instantly, with 92.8% of employees noting the experience gave them understanding of Foxtel’s strategy, culture and values.

When asked about how the onboarding experience impacted their role:

  • 91% of employees said they felt the experience increased their engagement
  • 92.8% noted the experience gave them understanding of Foxtel’s strategy, culture and values
  • Out of 267 responses to a follow-up question, only 3 employees had better onboarding experiences at previous organisations

The Problem

New starters at Foxtel needed a way to quickly understand the company’s culture, values, and operational flow while being across three countries, this was in order to integrate effectively and contribute to a company that had a passionate customer base that required high product and company knowledge from their call centres.

The Solution

An immersive onboarding experience was created, focusing on the who, why, and what of Foxtel. This experience had a mixture of key Australian on-screen talent guiding the process, guides and a digital module that felt like an interactive webapp, giving staff insights into each department, location and history of the company.

The Result

The culturally immersive onboarding journey resulted in new starters rapidly becoming productive and integrated team members. Employee surveys indicated an exceptional level of company pride and understanding of Foxtel’s mission, directly correlating to improved performance and team cohesion.
